I had my blinker on in the 3, I looked down and saw the light on my dash and my heart stopped for a second. I thought a warning light had come on, took me a solid second to realize that it was my blinker.

Scared the shit out me when it that occured for me as well. There was also this constant ticking/clicking noise that nearly drove me mad.
Luckily I knew this indie BMW mechanic who fixed it in less than a couple hours for less than $2000. Apparently the noise means the VANOS ti ming ch ain is about to go. He told me it’s a really common, but serious problem for BMW drivers, ever since BMW switched the VANOS chain from metal .
The dealerships charge at least $10k for parts alone. Can you believe that? I don’t know what’s worse, BMW ch arging an arm and a leg for such a common problem or BMW designing parts with built in obsolescence and diluting their name brand by selling to the dirty peasant class.

On Audi cars that’s a $3,458 option.

And when it inevitably fails the cost to fix it is $6,916

Turn signals are now optional only on the “adamantium” trim level, with the optional “driver -is-an-idiot” $7,000 package. Get your Audi trim levels right!
